The capitalized words are, in fact, capitalized for a reason - simply to bring attention to them. If one looks at those words long enough, one should notice a similarity between them all - each word has a silent letter. The title is also a hint to this.
Isolating the silent letters, one gets "ABRK" for the first journal entry, and "AANMLI" for the second, which can be anagrammed to form the phrase "BARK ANIMAL".
